Wore this under a rain shell on a chilly hike and never once felt bulky or overheated. The bound edges keep it looking tidy enough to wear into town after, which I didn't expect from a wool layer.

The brushed wool feels genuinely soft against my neck, no itch at all, which I wasn't expecting from 100% wool. I've been wearing it over a flannel on chilly mornings and the bound edges keep it looking sharp instead of sloppy.

The hood makes this way more useful than my other vests — I wore it over a flannel on a chilly morning walk and stayed warm without overheating. Bound edges give it a cleaner look than the raw-hem vests I've owned.
