I'm 5'2" and the extra high-rise actually hits at my true waist instead of floating somewhere near my ribs, which never happens. The two front pockets are deep enough to hold my phone without it sliding out when I sit down.

Finally found jeans with an extra high-rise that actually stays up all day — no constant pulling at the waist. The recycled cotton blend is softer than I expected right out of the box, though the button closure is a little fiddly to line up at first.
